We are now
nearing the end of week three. Most of the class have settled in, are working
really well together and showing respect by using their manners, speaking
kindly to each other and moving quietly around the school.
We have goal
setting conferences in early March and all caregivers are invited to make an
appointment to come in and set a goal with their child. The appointment slip is
in the newsletter. These are student-led conferences. I am available for a
brief chat, but for any lengthy discussion, you will need to meet with me at
some other time.
Some students are
still without stationery, PE uniform, correct shoes and togs. It is very, very
difficult to expect children to participate in a learning programme when they
are constantly without the tools of their trade. If you are having difficulty providing these, please contact the school to ask for support. I am more than
happy to keep PE uniforms at school and wash them myself, if it would help to
make sure the uniforms are always there when needed.
We are a team - you,
me and the class. When we support each other to help the students learn, they
will learn about teamwork as well as other lessons. Thanks for providing such a great bunch of kids to Room 18!
